Sprint (NYSE: S) customers will be overjoyed at the news that the Sprint HTC Touch Pro is now available online! The QWERTY slider can be snapped up at the Sprint site for $299.99 with free shipping and free activation of a new line.

For the $299.99 price tag, I should note that you’ll also have to lock-in a 2-year contract. The price includes $180 in ‘instant savings’ and a $100 mail-in rebate. To qualify for the rebate you’ll need to sign up for an ‘Everything Plan’ or add a Data Premier add-on or PRO Pack add-on to your plan.

The Sprint HTC Touch Pro Features:

  • Full slide-out QWERTY keyboard
  • Windows Mobile 6.1 with touch control
  • Sprint Music Store
  • Sprint TV® enabled
  • GPS enabled
  • Web, email capable
  • Built-in camera
  • Speakerphone
  • Bluetooth
  • External display
  • Memory card slot
  • Voice dialing
  • Broadband speeds where available

Interesting to note here is that the HTC Touch Pro rings in at only $50 more than the Sprint HTC Touch Diamond. Would you rather go for the Diamond at a measly savings of $50? I think most would certainly go for the Touch Pro.

At any rate, this is fantastic news for Sprint customers that have been waiting ever-so-patiently for the HTC Touch Pro to drop. To pick one up for yourself, click here.

  1. Sprint loses the ability to pay for Cogent’s bandwidth. When two tier-1 providers peer, the one with the most data sources and the fewest data consumers costs the other tier-1 provider more money since data is flowing out of Cogent and into Sprint, Sprint must pay.

To “fix” this Sprint disconnected from Cogent. Now all Sprint customers lose access to data sources hosted inside Cogent including http://archive.org/ with The Wayback Machine archive of older versions of existing (and previously existing) web sites. It’s like a time machine for the Internet and Sprint can’t afford to pay to allow Sprint customers to access it any more which is a sign of them collapsing.

  2. In this site you can find a complete review of the Sony Xperia compared with HTC Touch Pro. IMHO the first one is better for business but the second one is a beautiful luxury gadget

  3. Timothy James says:

I ordered the Sprint HTC Touch Pro from Sprint online the first day it was available. I’ve been on a “waiting list” ever since. My order was processed, my debit card charged, but the status of my order is “on backorder”. Didn’t know I would have to wait this long.
