Solo Mobile Bringing the BlackBerry Pearl 8130

Solo Mobile is set to launch their first ever BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM). First time around it is going to be the BlackBerry Pearl 8130. All reports have the 8130 launching on their network at the end of this month. The device will only be available in White, and will no doubt sell somewhere in the $0 to $50 range (what other carriers are offering up the device for on a 3-year plan).
In fact, I just received a promo from Rogers (NYSE: RCI) last week, and they were indeed offering up the Pearl for free, on a 3-year plan. I’m too addicted to the full QWERTY keyboard to switch over to SureType, even though I do love the slimmer size of the Pearl.
Key Features of the BlackBerry Pearl 8130:
- Send/receive email
- 2.0 MP camera
- listen to music/watch video
- on-device browser
- 64MB of built-in memory
- BlackBerry Messenger (love BB Messenger!)
Solo Mobile is owned by Bell Mobility, and offers services to folks in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec (Canadian provinces for those of you that aren’t sure what those places are!). They offer a number of mid to low priced devices including the LG Rumour, HTC 5800, Samsung m300 and Samsung m500.
