Remember when the iPhone was the hottest thing rolling through the blogosphere? Remember how “iPhone” was the most searched for term on the web after Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) launched its original iPhone? Well, the new hotness on the block is apparently BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM)’s first-ever touchscreen handset – the BlackBerry 9500 Storm.
Web search statistics from Hitwise show that searches for “BlackBerry Storm” has surpassed search queries for “iPhone,” “Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N96,” “Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) C905,” and “Samsung Omnia.” Searches for “BlackBerry Storm” have skyrocketed in just a month’s time, bringing the Storm from the bottom of the search-rankings to the top in no time flat.
So, with the BlackBerry Storm’s release imminent, we can be sure that the web-searching masses will be flocking to RIM’s touchscreen baby for months to come.

Anyone have a recommendation on where to buy an unlocked GSM Storm?
Have any idea how many people are searching the Nokia 5800 compared with these?
