Nokia Friend View is a location-aware Twitter

No wonder Nokia (NYSE: NOK) allowed Google (NSDQ: GOOG) to swallow Jaiku – they’ve been preparing to launch their own micro-blogging service, which we’re presenting you today.
The so called Nokia Friend View combines micro-blogging with location-based information, allowing users not only to share their thoughts but also their location. That (location sharing) could be done either automatically using GPS or network-based location, or manually by entering your location.
The service is actually a service-application combo, which combines a web-based interface with an S60 application. This in turn gives users an option to update their status either from their mobile phone or from their their computer.
Since Nokia Friend View is released through Beta Labs, we can’t say it’s a mature app ready for prime time. Still, it “gets the job done” and folks behind it are eager to hear any comments you may have.
A short introductory video about Nokia Friend View featuring our friend Stefan follows after the jump.

You get to share who you’re doing with your friends? I can block my mom from seeing that, right?
Not sure, hopefully you can.
