Verizon announces roaming plans for BlackBerry Storm

By Simon Sage on Thursday, November 6th, 2008 at 9:46 AM PST In Announcements, BlackBerry, Hottest Hardware, RIM (Research in Motion), Services, Verizon

BlackBerry Storm from VerizonVerizon hasn’t mentioned a release date (we’re still eyeballing November 16th., after the treasure hunt), but they have announced some roaming plans to go with the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm. For  $69.99/month ($64.99 if tacked onto a voice plan), subscribers will get unlimited access to personal POP3 accounts and corporate addresses via GlobalEmail, as well as web browsing, MMS, and other data services. This is a nice cut to the original plan which was launched in February for $169, and should be a welcome treat to customers doing some world roaming with a BlackBerry Storm or otherwise.

I only wish it was on a GSM carrier. Verizon is the worst with locking down phone features and hijacking built in tools on their devices. I have nothing but contempt for their practices.
