AT&T (NYSE: T) has recently acquired Wi-Fi service provider, Wayport, for $275 million, thus expanding their Wi-Fi hotspot count to 20,000 locations across the U.S. This is hot on the heels of the free Wi-Fi access AT&T had announced to their customers in late October, and allows data access like Mariott and Four Seasons Hotels, as well as McDonald’s.I’m still trying to figure out if the mobile Wi-Fi offer is exclusive to the iPhone, or if the recently-launched BlackBerry Bold will also be able to enjoy the promo. There should be plenty of love to go out for a device that took AT&T eons to release, no?
