BlackBerry Storm video review shows Vodafone Music store in action

Believe it or not, campy disco music goes hand-in-hand with tech reviews – it’s true! Know Your Mobile’s video gives us a good look at Vodafone (NYSE: VOD)’s music store built into the upcoming BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm, as well as a quick review of the Application Center and an overall walkthrough. Just keep in mind that the Application Storefront, which will have a full selection of commercial third-party apps, isn’t due to land until March. It would be safe to say that the carrier-powered channel will be testing the waters before RIM jumps into the pool with Android’s Marketplace and Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) App Store. Some of the apps listed are pretty standard, free downloads that have been available for awhile (GTalk, Yahoo! Messenger, etc.), but providing an on-device catalog infinitely improves discoverability. The dedicated YouTube program was new, however… Maybe we can look forward to a few more surprises once the Vodafone BlackBerry Storm launches next week on November 14th.

Voda is cleverly seeding the BlackBerry 9500 into the blogosphere, because there are a lot of Brits out there talking about the Storm today.
