Rocketship Apple: iPhone booster blows!

KER-POW!
KER…ER…SPLAT?
Yep, the iPhone journey was going far too smoothly, and being the ‘realist’ that I am, I was kinda expecting something to go wrong – however, this far wrong, I was not prepared for!
What the hell am I talking about? Well, as some of you who follow IntoMobile daily, I’ve been in the process of porting wholesale to Apple technology – a process which until the other day was going well.
I should pre-empt any further statements by saying that there is also Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) tech in my current network, which is pertinent to what I have to say going forward…
So, day one with the iPhone, connected to XP and Outlook 2003 – not an uncommon setup I should imagine for a proportion of iPhone users out there – and all was well. Using the rocketship analogy, we had blasted off toward Planet Apple (NSDQ: AAPL), and were maintaining good velocity, when BOOM…. calendar and email go down on the iPhone….
Rather than write the world’s longest blog post, I am going to serialise my trials and tribulations with sorting both these issues out (which are not completely fixed, even now)… check out what happens in upcoming posts Rocketship Apple: email, and Rocketship Apple: calendar !!
(Note: Windows users with iPhones, please note the upcoming posts will not make pretty reading, you might want to have a box of tissues, and something you can squeeze the life out of handy!)
Ben
