blackberry aim icq AT&T Adds Service Books for ICQ and AIM... Finally!

AT&T (NYSE: T) has finally pushed out service books needed to run the RIM native AIM and ICQ clients on their BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) devices. This is very, very, very long overdue. The clients have been available on other carriers for some time now, so if you were stuck on AT&T waiting for AIM and ICQ… your wait is over.

Both of the apps should integrate nicely with your Berry’s OS. Add ICQ and AIM to the already available Windows Live Messenger and Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Talk, and I would predict AT&T customers will have enough instant messaging options to last till the cows come home.

If you’re running a BlackBerry on AT&T and would like to install these apps, head on over to mobile.blackberry.com. Let me know if you run into any hiccups or problems along the way.
