My last day with the Nokia E71 is approaching and I wanted to use another opportunity to rant about it and answer the single most important question of those interested to grab one for themselves.

In a nutshell: buy it!

As I said it before, the Nokia E71 is the single best Symbian phone released to date. It has everything you could possible need, including WiFi connectivity, full QWERTY keyboard that is easy to use, built-in GPS, and a great Webkit-based browser. Calendar also rocks, but if you want something even better – you can always install some third-party app like Handy Calendar.

On the other hand, if you don’t need a GPS and 2 megapixel camera is good enough for you, maybe the newly announced Nokia E63 will do the job for you. You should know, however, that it’s more plasticy than the E71 and once you get used to the navigation and other location-based services, you’ll never want to go back.

Back to the E71. It was my pleasure to use for almost two weeks and, boy, will I miss it. I already have the Nokia N93 and iPhone, so personally, I won’t buy it. However, if any of those two stops working — the E71 is on top of my list. At the moment, though, I’m happy with what I got and my gadget fund is set to be used for some netbook purchase…

That’s about all I wanted to share about the E71. It goes back to Nokia’s WOM World within days. Life without it won’t be the same. :(

I hear you on the construction. The E71 feels outstanding.

Cant agree more , The E71 is the best device I ever had.

  • Bill

But why won't AT&T launch it?!?!

With all the deals floating around, you can almost get one for free. Use the 25% cash back from Live.com when you buy it on eBay with Buy it Now and grab the free phone from AT&T when you sign a new contract. Sell that phone, and you'll probably be out less than $100 after everything comes back. It's a little bit of a hassle, but not a bad deal after everything's said and done.
