Spb Software is out with the latest version of their award-winning on-screen keyboard for Windows Mobile – Spb Keyboard 4.0. Apparently, the latest version of Spb Keyboard is a result of conducted research and gathered feedback from Spb’s customers.
Here’s what’s new in Spb Keyboard 4.0:
- Three modes of text input: full-Screen, half-Screen, and standard modes are optimized for fingers, fingers or stylus, and just the stylus, respectively.
- New finger-friendly interface and skin engine, which will automatically adapt to the current device theme.
- Built-in support of 35 languages
- Sliding pop-ups
- Smart Gestures – available for ALL CAPS, Enter, Spacebar, and Backspace commands.
- Better auto-complete in full-screen mode offers a total of 3 word choices from the built-in and user’s dictionaries.
- Low memory Consumption
Spb Keyboard is compatible with Windows Mobile Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile Professional 5.0 and higher. The application costs $14.95 and a free, 15-day trial is also available.

Simply because is branded “SPB” doesn’t make it the best keyboard.
Actually its features are very close to what the default OS keyboard offers, so it doesn’t make sense to pay 14.95 bucks just to waste extra memory.
If you want a real keyboard, take a look at Teksoft’s Fingertouch, or Cootek’s Touchpal.
Not to mention the freeware alternatives.
