Mobile Systems has recently launched OfficeSuite 5.0 for Symbian S60 platform, to allow users to view Word and Excel 2007 files and attachments.

The software offers a wide-range of powerful features, which include True Type fonts and Unicode support and superior document support capabilities to preserve file formatting and maintain data integrity. The OfficeSuite supports password protected files, charting, pictures, spell checking for word processing files and includes an integrated file explorer that let’s you browse to your files on your device or memory card.

The problem, though, is that you can’t edit Office 2007 files. Sure, many of you may never want to edit a Word or an Excel file on their smartphone, but wait a minute. Let’s say you need to change just a few words in a document. OfficeSuite 5 won’t do the job, as far as I’ve understood.

Regardless, OfficeSuite 5 is still a valuable mobile app. It costs $69.99 and prior to purchasing it, you can download a free evaluation version and if you like it, then pull the trigger. It’s that easy.
