Video of Flash 10 working on Android, HTC G1

Well, damn. I guess all that open source stuff with Android paid off awfully quick, because here we have a video from the Adobe MAX conference of Flash 10 running on the T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) G1, as previously announced. It demos full zooming, panning and interactivity, which unlocks a whole segment of web content typically inaccessible to mobile browsers. Big name platforms like the iPhone and BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) still have yet to pull this particular rabbit out of the hat, but Windows Mobile has supported Flash Lite since OS version 5.0. No dates for a proper release were mentioned, but the fact that developers are toying around with it now leads us to believe Flash on Android will be a solid reality in the very near future.

Glad to see this is up and working on the G1, I still can’t figure out why it doesn’t work on the iPhone, even though the iPhone can play YouTube Videos….seems pretty basic to me.
From what I understand, Flash Lite isn’t up to Apple’s aesthetic standards for internet browsing, rather than being any particular technical limitations.
Well god forbid apple took function over form
I have heard that the Iphone probably won’t release Flash support anyways because it would undermine their Itunes store. With proper flash you would be able to get all your videos, music, and what not from websites with Flash, and support for all flash games. If that was allowed there would be no need for the Itunes store.
