I just got mine yesterday, was really looking forward to using it but what a disappointment. My biggest frustration is with navigating with the touch screen (it more often than not does not respond or is extremely slow) and typing (it should be easier to use the keyboard). I am going to try it a bit longer but unless some miracle happens, I will return it.

I have never been more disappointed with a purchase of anything. This phone locks up, lags, is incredibly slow, the keyboard is terrible, camera is useless it is so slow. If this phone worked like the demo it would be awsome but the truth of the matter it is a long ways from that and I am not willing to do the R&D that should have been done by RIM. I am exchanging mine today.

I have been an iphone user for 2 years. I wanted to get away from AT&T and the Storm looked like a good reason to leave AT&T. If you can live with AT&T, stay with the iphone. The keyboard is terrible on the storm and not as accurate as the iphone. It moves much slower than the iphone also. BIG dissappointment and now I'm stuck. Make sure to play with this phone at the store before you switch from the iphone to the Storm.

I myself have the storm, and while it WAS horrendously laggy at first, it is no longer the case after the updates. The typing took some time to get accustomed to it, but type a nudge slower than on my old blackberry. Not enough to bother me. It does have a learning curve, but I find the more I use it, the more I'm impressed with it's capabilities. IMHO....plus, everyone I know is envious >:)...that doesn't hurt a bit... Makes for a nice icebreaker when meeting women too... RIM - taking care of business and pleasure.

Dissappointed!! Maybe the hype was too much!! I spent time with it in the store before my purchase. It was slow and a less user friendly than I imagined. I am gonna wait or pass on this one Verizon. I think the iPhone will, in fact, weather the Storm...it's a better phone.

Interesting... not everyone is 'mad-keen' on the device, and in no small part due to the touchscreen. Not radically different from what I said about it.

(Still not Apple-biased here, never was....!)

To little too late. The Pearl keyboard in portrait mode is a joke with a touch screen, and the full QWERTY in landscape is not the same as a true keyboard. This is NOT a business messaging phone. Be real.

We received a test unit about 2 weeks ago. I was very disappointed as soon as I got over the wow-factor of the click screen and looks. The touch screen is laggy and inaccurate compared to the iphone. It feels like there is an extra step for everything since you have to touch, drag, and then click for every small input required. You often have to delete, click-twice, or toss the thing at a wall because the input is so badly interpreted.

This is the first (or one of the first if I am mistaken) BlackBerry to come with built-in 1GB storage. However, the device's operating system will only allow applications to be installed to the "main" memory which is significantly smaller. The internal memory is something like 128MB and about 100+ of that is used up by system files. This is the x-th generation of BlackBerry devices and you still cant install programs to an SD card or larger built-in storage?

THERE IS NO WIFI! Why would you make a PDA with a screen this large and full internet browser and not include wifi? It's silly and short-sighted. This device is NOT the best Blackberry ever- I would still give that title to the pearl since it doesn't have the severe memory leak problems which all subsequent models have been plagued with (Curve is worst for this and the Storm STILL has the same problem) and it weighs significantly less than other blackberries.

The test model we have came with a media player that crashes upon first use- neither the included demo videos or anything I have loaded to the device will actually play.

Screen real-estate is wasted. There is enough room to have a full keyboard in both portrait and landscape modes, but the poor design requires having buttons combined when in portrait mode (not unlike the pearl, but not as easy to use since they are not real buttons).

The reviewer above from Mobility Today obviously did not review the device based on their own testing. There is not a single fact about the device in their review and I could have written a higher-quality review of the device even if I had not even seen/touched it for myself.

Shame on RIM- you guys seriously need to play catch up. If you want to kill the iPhone you need to finish development on your devices before releasing them. They released a year's worth of devices that were not fully compatible with the PC sync software included with them and they still have no way to elegantly handle new devices in earlier versions of their sync software. It's frustrating and lame- much like the storm.

It should be noted that the only negative review here (Engadget) is from an Apple-biased website.
