Verizon BlackBerry Storm Now for Sale
By Simon Sage on Friday, November 21st, 2008 at 7:37 AM PST In BlackBerry, Verizon

The Verizon (NYSE: VZ) BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm is now available for better or worse to the general public. Price starts at $199 on two-year contract after mail-in rebates and a nationwide e-mail plan. There was a ton of commotion yesterday as reviewers were left cold in the wake of the Storm, but there are still OS updates to come which should smooth out the experience, right? … Right? Not everyone was completely enamoured with the clickable SurePress touchscreen either, but I remain optimistic based on my experience at the BlackBerry Developer Conference. For the full tour, be sure to check out our BlackBerry Storm Video Roundup and hands-on picture gallery, but considering all of the mixed impressions, the only real way to know if this smartphone is for you is to get your hands on one and try it yourself. Still interested? Swing by your local Verizon shop, or check out verizonwireless.com/storm.
UPDATE: We hear there are some pretty crazy lines out there and short supply. Feel free to drop a comment with your local availability, and if you managed to get your mitts on one, your initial impressions.

After so much announcement of the Blackberry Storm, a local
verizon store located in Hamilton Mall Mays Landing New Jersey
only gets 5 phones. They open the store at 8 AM when they had
announced 7 AM. So NOT A HAPPY VERIZON CUSTOMER RIGHT NOW!
Picked mine up this morning after getting there at 7 am waiting in line for i hour. there were already 10 people in line after the doors open up there were 30 people behind me. after another 45min i was on my way out the door there were people still rushing in. the storm seems to work pretty will for the most part.
