AOL Sync for Windows Mobile launched in beta

AOL has launched a new service in partnership with Funambol to allow its users to sync their calendar and contacts with their Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices. Tasks and email are not supported at the moment, but we guess those will follow in the near future as well. Actually, now that I’m thinking Tasks seem to be a tricky beast as not that many services support tasks synchronization (that’s why I love Remember the Milk).
Anyway, if you happen to use AOL you’re probably not reading this, but then again you never know. Let’s say you do use AOL for your email and that you have a Windows Mobile-powered device. Hop over to AOL Sync’s website and give it a try. We’re eager to hear any comments you may have.

Hmmm… The people in that diagram look suspiciously like the Vlingo logo.

Funambol is a great service and should serve AOL well; however, AOL should set up their sync service to allow contact and/or calendars to be synced SEPARATELY. I would like to use AOL Sync to sync my contacts but NOT my calendar – you can’t do this currently. So close!!
