If you can afford it, that extra markup in price goes a long way when it comes to the finishing touches and detail that Apple puts into their products. Every PC I've ever owned has felt like a tool to me, just enough to get by. Ever since I bought my Macbook Pro (from Craigslist, great place to find good deals on slightly used macs) I've felt like it's part of my life. Not only does it feel like it's a much higher quality product, but it's so rock-solid that I've forgotten what it's like to have a system crash or exhibit strange behavior. Mac's aren't without their problems, but it's obvious when you first take it home and learn to use it that Apple has put a lot more thought into their product line than any PC manufacturer. I look at it this way, PC are the General Motors (lot's of power, little refinement) and Mac's are the Mercedes (flashy, lot's of refinement, but a price-tag to go along with it) Which would you rather drive every day?
