Verizon Wireless completes 3G network in Indiana

Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless announced that it has completed enhancements to its 3G network throughout Indiana. As part of the process, the mobile operator installed EV-DO Rev. A hardware and software on the remaining 106 cell sites needing upgrading, and has activated an additional 55 EV-DO cell sites in the state.
Since the introduction of 3G in in Indianapolis and Gary in June 2005, Verizon has invested more than $89 million in Indiana’s network. The result is that their network covers 31,186 square miles of the state or about 95.6% of the population.
As for the overall investment, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $48 billion, or about $5.5 billion on every year, since it was formed.
