OilCanvas lets iPhone/iPod Touch users paint on-the-go

Big Canvas is out with with OilCanvas, a neat application that allows users to paint on their iPhone/iPod Touch device using nothing but a finger.

Here’s how it works:

With OilCanvas, users create or personalize artwork by first selecting an image they capture or previously saved to their iPhone library. After selecting an image to serve as the base picture, users choose a brush and paint with their fingers. OilCanvas eliminates confusion and simplifies art by automatically locating the paint color from the imported base picture.

And that’s about it. The app is free — ot at least to the first 50,000 people who download it, according to the official release — and you can grab it from here (iTunes link).

Previously, Big Canvas released three other iPhone apps: PhotoShare, SmallCanvas and PhotoArtist.

A short clip of “OilCanvas in action” follows after the jump.
