As feature-packed and stylishly designed as the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N96 is, the N96 has been plagued with stability and performance problems. But, that’s all about to change with the new Nokia N96 firmware. The new firmware update from Nokia promises to make the Nokia N96 faster, improves camera accuracy, and increases WiFi reception range.
Nokia N96 owners looking to tune-up their handset can download the Nokia N96 v12.043 update through the Software Updater. MobileBurn is also reporting that the firmware update may be available through the Nokia N96’s OTA (over-the-air) update utility. To wireless download the update, simply dial *#0000# from the stand-by screen and then navigate to Options>Check for update.

I just tried the OTA update on my N96, worked a charm.. i think it was faster than an update using the software updater. Further, it preserved all my applications, and settings. after the update, even my mail for exchange still worked..
I Just update my N96 OS, it completed just fine, but now
my screen keeps flickering and it will not give me a chance to select anything. It rendered my phone useless. Can any body tell me what went wrong????
Thanks.
