RIM has just gobbled up a solution developer by the name of Chalk Media, who allow enterprises to push content (video, text, images and otherwise) to their workforce’s BlackBerrys, as well as receive feedback and statistics on its usage. The acquisition cost upwards of $CAN 23,125,000, or $0.142 per share, and should be fully completed in February. I’ve talked with the guys from Chalk a few times, and their product is something that could easily be bundled in with the BlackBerry Enterprise for some serious value add.

This isn’t the only acquisition on RIM’s plate right now – a takeover bid for crytopgraphy company Certicom just kicked off recently, showing some serious economic confidence. Hey, maybe now, when the going is cheap, is the best time to pick up some innovative partners.
