Yesterday it was a rumor and today it’s official. RadioShack is now offering the AT&T (NYSE: T) 3G-enabled Acer Aspire One netbook in 4,400 of its stores. The $99 offer is valid through December 24th, and requires qualifying two-year AT&T DataConnect mobile broadband service agreement with plans starting at $60 a month.

As for the specs, aside from the built-in 3G modem, the piano-black version of Acer’s netbook RadioShack is offering comes with a 8.9-inch LCD screen, WiFi connectivity, Windows XP Home, 1GB memory, 160GB hard drive, memory card reader. Intel Atom CPU is handling all the processing in the back.

    Only stupid people would go for this gimmick. $60 a month for a 728Kbps connection for 2 years. That is what, $1440 for two years + $100 for the netbook, which comes out to be $1540 over two years. That’s a bigger rip-off than iPhone and I hope no one falls for it.
