What will you be watching on (Mobile) TV this Christmas?

mariusz pudzianowski What will you be watching on (Mobile) TV this Christmas?I am not so sure about everywhere else, but certainly in the UK, there is more or less a tradition of things that are watched on TV over Christmas. This stemmed from the old terrestrial analogue days when there were 4 (or 5, depending on how old you are, and what your memory is like) channels, which showed pretty much the same thing each year:

The Queen’s speech
Top of the Pops Christmas Special
EastEnders Christmas Special
World’s Stongest Man – heats and final!
Star Wars
…etc…

Of course, the world has moved on since then – most Mobile operators now offer some type of short-form made-for-mobile video, and/or Live TV services – plus there are also independents. In the Internet domain, iPlayer is blazing a trail across platforms, and frustrating the ISPs when it takes up to 10% of bandwidth at peak times, apparently.

We shouldn’t also forget P2P, torrents, and the like – all of which have radically altered how a lot of the “yoof” consume their video. But what does this mean for Xmas?

Well, in a neatly-constructed Web/Mobile/Broadcaster mashup, I wonder if say iPlayer on the N96 will prove popular for catching up on those programmes missed during dinner/drinking/games/sleeping?

Let us know your thoughts on what you might be watching on your mobile over Xmas – it might be pre-loaded with the device, downloaded, streamed, or even side-loaded – but we here are interested as to what your viewing habits might be!

Me personally, I am going to be watching World’s Strongest Man on normal TV – mainly because of the goliath of a man that is Mariusz Pudzianowski (see pic) – he is one big dude, and has been winning – A LOT!

And Mariusz along with his brother recorded a “motivational” song…which was so cheesy that makes you wanna barf. It’s almost as bad Britney singing. People that don’t know how to sing should stick to their roots.
