Rogers Network Upgraded, Leaves BlackBerry Bold, iPhone Behind

Canada’s foremost GSM Carrier recently upgraded their HSPA network to handle 7.2 Mbps, a speed currently only attainable by the HTC Touch Diamond and the LG Vu T915. This leaves the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Bold, which clocks in at 3.6 Mbps, the iPhone, which many carriers stunt to 1.3 Mbps, and plenty of other older handsets behind the curve until we see a few firmware updates. Rogers (NYSE: RCI) remains confident that it won’t take long until new devices are out to take advantage of the speedier HSPA network – their new Rocket Stick aircard already runs on it.
