Visa Mobile App Now Available in the Android Market

By James Falconer on Monday, December 15th, 2008 at 9:16 AM PST In Android, Applications, GPhone

New to the Android Market today is the Visa Mobile App. In order to use it, you’ll need to be a Chase Visa cardholder, so don’t get too excited if you aren’t. As far as I can tell so far the app looks really handy (I’m not a Chase Visa cardholder!). It gives you real-time alerts to track your transactions. Plus, you’ll get special offers for members-only deals. Kind of cool. I’ve included a handy overview video above for your curious viewing pleasure.

The big advantage I see here is if you’re concerned about fraudulent or unauthorized use of your card. The app will let you know right away when transactions are made… So if you’re sitting at home and you get an alert that says a purchase was made at Tiffany’s in NYC… You’ll know something is up.

The app of course is a free download, so if you do happen to pick it up and try it…Let me know what you think, would ya?
