From all the luxury handset makers, I always loved Gresso the most. The reason is simple – they are the only one to actually combine both the beauty and the brains, by having their phones run Windows Mobile. Note here that while personally I’m not a big fan of WinMo, it’s certainly a better solution than having an ultra-expensive feature phone.

Back to the story. Grasso is out with yet another luxury smartphone. It’s called Avantgarde Skeleton and only 15 of these will be made, each one of them costing a whooping 4.000 EUR. Specs wise, aside from running Windows Mobile 6 (why not 6.1?), it also boasts a QVGA screen, Bluetooth, 2GB of built-in flash memory, 2 megapixel camera. Lack of 3G is kinda strange, considering it’s a (very expensive) smartphone.

As for the “real” specs, Gresso highlights:

  • Casing made out of special titanium alloy which has been used originally in space industry only
  • Scratch-proof high-tech ceramic coverage
  • 23 functional keys and the triangle on the front panel that are executed of aircraft steel
  • Sapphire glass on the back panel which is decorated with the Gresso logo covered with 10 micron gold, and
  • Battery cover made out of stainless steel and decorated with genuine leather.

Hop over to Gresso’s website for more information.
