mtnl logo MTNL is the first to bring 3G in IndiaIndia is finally “going 3G” and the state-owned telecom company, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), will be the first mobile operator to “bless” its users with fast 3G data speeds.

As part of the marketing activities, MTNL will offer free 3G access for the first two months to its premium users in Delhi area, and the company plans to expand the 3G coverage to the whole region within a month. Mumbai citizens, however, will have to wait for around two more months, before they get 3G, too.

Now we’re waiting for other mobile operators in the country to roll-out their 3G offering. Guess we won’t have to wait for too long to see that happening…
