After almost a year, Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Beta Labs has released a new, much improved version of the Nokia Audiobooks application. Aside from fixing many of the known bugs and making the application more stable, the new version also brings several changes, including:
- Audiobook client is the single SIS file - you do not have to know whether you phone runs S60 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 or whatever version, any more.
- User interface has been slightly improved to enable clock view. This is a tiny thing, but it makes the application way more usable. You won’t have to do any task switching to go to idle screen to look what time it is. In addition, the sleep timer is improved and you can now set it for different time intervals. Finally, status display now shows in minutes how much time is left in sleep timer.
- Desktop application, Audiobook manager, was improved as well, enabling usage of Bluetooth data transfer. The volume control now allows creation of audiobooks with better volume levels, and Scandinavian letters are now supported in book names.
And that’s about it. As always Nokia keeps listening and you are invited to drop them your two cents about Audiobooks app…
