UK: Vodafone launches PAYG Mobile Broadband

Following on from the launch of other mobile broadband propositions on Prepay, Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) has joined the pack too.
The USB modem is a 3.6Mbps model, costing £39. However this inlcudes £15 of credit (good for 1GB data), and doesn’t expire - that’s a nice touch.
Mobile broadband has been one of the success stories this year, with providers falling over themselves to get the devices shipped out there. We’ve seen it go from a premium offering down to almost a commodity in less than 12 months, and with Prepay offerings making things increasingly affordable, you’ve got to wonder if the days of the fixed line, for some people, are now numbered.
Of course, mobile broadband isn’t much use if you want to do some hardcore PC multiplayer gaming (due to the latencies in the network), but for pretty much most other things, it’s great - I use my dongle all the time (so to speak!), and it’s incredibly convenient!
