SymTorrent goes S60 5th edition; Works with the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Some time ago we wrote about SymTorrent, BitTorrent client for Symbian S60-powered smartphones. The idea with the app was (and still is) to allow user to do their “torrent thing” right from their phone, without connecting it with his/her desktop computer.

The application has evolved since then, adding new features to the mix. One of the most notable one is that SymTorrent has been optimized to work with the latest version of Symbian S60 (5th Edition), meaning that even users with the all-touchscreen Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 5800 XpressMusic can get their files on-the-go.

Other features include support for downloading multiple torrents at the same time. Status saving support is also supported, enabling users to resume the downloads after restarting the app. In addition, you can see status of each file that is downloading/uploading, along with several other statistics and properties.

Torrents can be started from the browser, and selecting the files that are downloaded from multi-file torrents is also supported.
