AccuWeather.com goes iPhone

AccuWeather.com is joining the “iPhone fray” for all those who need more detailed weather information than iPhone’s built-in app provides.

As expected, AccuWeather’s app goes well beyond basic weather featuring such things as:

• Location-aware info, limiting the need to enter user locations
• Animated, user-centric radar and satellite
• 5-day local forecasts with high and low temperatures and sky conditions for day and night
• Hour-by-hour forecasts
• Weather videos including national, regional, and local forecasts as well as breaking weather news, lifestyle weather, and several other entertaining and informative choices
• Health weather — including the UV, air quality, Arthritis Index, and Flu Index
• WeatherRisc graphs, which show probability of severe weather conditions over the next 8 hours
