SHOUTcast goes iPhone, too!

If you own an iPhone and love Internet radio, you probably already have some of the related apps like FlyCast or Radiolicious installed on your device. Now we’ve spotted that AOL-owned SHOUTcast is joining the “iPhone party,” too, hence providing users with more choice than ever.
With a dedicated SHOUTcast app, you can:
- Access to over 25,000 SHOUTcast radio stations
- Organize a list of your favorite stations
- Listen to the random station by simply shaking your iPhone/iPod Touch
Now, you may ask which Internet radio app is the right one for you. TO be perfectly honest – I’ve no clue. All of them “do the job” perfectly and at the end it’s your call which user interface or which stations you prefer listening. So, you may want to have as many of them installed on your device, try them all out and find the one that suits your needs best. Here’s an AppStore link for SHOUTcast, in the meantime. Enjoy it!

Nice, I love Shoutcast. I’m a big fan of SpyRadio, they play James Bond-style tunes.
It’s a nice idea, but i’ve only managed to get it working when connected to wifi, it just says “Connection error” when using 3G or EDGE
Hi Rob try our trance station on the iPhone as we have used a provider to stream direct without and application to the iPhone. I would be interested to know if you can connect to it without WiFi

I just tried it and it DID connect over 3G, on an iPhone 3G of course. Maybe they had some time to tweak it. In any case, I’m extremely happy – its like a dream come true, streaming psychedelic transe all day all night in my ear. Now for an invisible bluetooth, so I can just be immersed in music 24/7.
I’d either be happier, or go insane. Either way, ‘t will be fun!
