Remember the rumor that T-Mobile was going to be sending out replacement batteries to all G1 owners? The rumor sounded great, and I’m sure most G1 owners were/are hyped about it, as the battery seems to more or less ‘suck the bag’. At any rate, while poking around the interwebs this morning I noticed more details on the matter by way of Android Central. Seems as though one of their devoted readers just got off the phone with T-Mo and reported the following:

Just wanted to let you guys know that i just got off the phone with a t-mobile supervisor who confirmed that replacement batteries are being sent out and that there was an internal memo sent around that extra batteries are being sent out free of charge and there will be no need to send back your old one! He was unable however to confirm whether or not they would be of a higher capacity or not.

That’s awesome news… Still, I’ll believe it when I see it! Keeping my fingers crossed over here for this to come true!

T-Mobile should DEFINITELY do this. Besides the poor reception T-Mobile offers, this phone was supposed to make T-Mobile into something, but now the battery isn’t such a great fit for the phone apps after-all. Many problems. If AT&T took over T-Mobile, would we get AT&T’s reception with our old plans?

Sure J-Atl you would get AT&T’s great reception(which i have 0 problems with T-Mobile’s and i drive a Truck)and their super high prices as soon as your TMo contract was up
