HTC Touch HD Running Android: Could it be the G2?
By James Falconer on Monday, January 5th, 2009 at 8:20 AM PST In Android, HTC, Videos
Lets say you love the look, feel and features of the beautiful HTC Touch HD. I think we can all agree it is one sexy looking device. That said, you might not be too eager to hop on to the HTC Touch HD train, mostly because you don’t want to be running Windows Mobile on the device. What if I told you that you could possibly run Android instead?
A new video has appeared on the interwebs this morning that shows the very attractive HTC Touch HD running Android in all its glory. The video quality is wonderfully horrible, but I think you’ll get the point after checking it out for yourself.
I can remember reading reports of HTC prepping the Touch HD to be the second flagship device to run Android (waaaay back in October I believe), so this video doesn’t surprise me too much. Could it be the G2? I’ve got a word in with a contact of mine at HTC… Will keep you all posted.

Seriously? This “news” broke months ago on other sites like phonedog. “I’ve got a word in with my contact at HTC” … Ha ha, what a loser
Also, did you watch the video? That’s the most unresponsive phone ever. No WAY HTC will have anything to do with that, whether it’s on an HTC phone or not – it’d be an embarrassment to them to admit to something that’s so laggy.
lol, James… You can’t be serious.
Your “contact” at HTC hasn’t given you anything notable in the past so I am left with the assumption that they are a receptionist or the person who updates their Twitter feed.
Anyway, do you honestly think HTC would be so stupid as to slap Android on the Touch HD and call it a day? No, they’d be slaughtered in the blogs.
Cool!
Seems like Android is being ported to everything, these days. I can’t wait until more “official” devices are released. 2009 looks like it is going to be a VERY interesting year.
