skype lite android1 Skype Lite Now Available in the Android Market

Remember my post yesterday about Skype ‘Lite’ coming to Android? We weren’t quite sure how long it was going to take for the app to hit the Android Market, but we knew it would be soon… And wouldn’t you know it, already Skype ‘Lite’ has reared its head in the Market!

Skype ‘Lite’ is the first native VoIP Client for Java-enabled devices…and you can bet the folks at Skype aren’t going to stop there. I’ve got Skype on my ‘must-have’ list, and have had it there for a long time… So should you.

So what are you waiting for T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) G1 users? Hop on the Android Market and get your copy of Skype ‘Lite’ right now! Let me know what you think of the app! Easy to use? Simple? Useful? Or is it a pile of steaming garbage? You be the judge.

Give me a break…NOT VOIP…uses cell mins….ONLY worth it if International calls are your needs and even then BUYER BE WARE…Kind of a Bait-and-Switch…is that not against the LAW…law suit just waiting to happen…This kind of bogus reporting will drive folks away form intomobile, due to perceiving this as ADVERTISING…not facts……

My vote is “a pile of steaming garbage”

What we need is a VoIP application not a VoIPoC (VoIP over cellular) I also have Skype as one of my must-have apps but it needs to be able go over WiFi, 3G, EDGE and cellular in that order. If I have a WiFi connection available to me, why would I want to use up my precious minutes and if I wanted to waste my precious minutes, why would I not just use the phone?

I understand that you get the Skype-to-Skype benefit for international calls (which is good too) but it just seems like Skype lite is a lot less than even a half-ass effort on the Skype team. I want to see a complete solution from them.

I cannot find Skype on Android Market
