Sprint Palm Treo Pro spotted in the wild!

What’s this? Why, it’s an alleged photo of a CDMA Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Treo smartphone?
WMExperts has gotten their hands on an image of what could very well be the Sprint (NYSE: S)-branded version of the newest Palm handset, the Palm Treo Pro. The pics come hot on the heels of the CDMA Palm Treo Pro’s approval from the FCC. The timing bodes well for the Sprint Palm Treo Pro launching this month.
The CDMA version of the Palm Treo Pro would be a welcome addition to Sprint’s smartphone lineup, but we have to wonder if the Palm Pre will cannibalize sales from the Sprint-exclusive Palm Pre.
The Sprint Treo Pro will likely carry-over much of the GSM Treo Pro’s feature-set, swapping out the GSM radio for one of the CDMA variety. Of course, Sprint and Palm could just as easily change some specifications on the Sprint Treo Pro before the device goes live. But, with development resources at Palm presumably prioritized to the Palm Pre and Web OS, we can’t imagine Palm would be planning any major changes for the CDMA Palm Treo Pro.
Look for the Sprint Treo Pro to drop sometime this month. Pricing is not yet known, but expect it to fall in line with, or undercut, the GSM Treo Pro’s price-point.
