Beejive IM 2.0 hits the AppStore

Popular all-in-one instant messaging app, Beejive, has been recently updated with new features. Even before this update, Beejive was one of the hottest iPhone apps available, allowing users to connect with many different IM services — including AIM, Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Talk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN/Live, Myspace IM, and Yahoo messenger,
Among the new features of the Beejive 2.0, we highlight:
- Ability to send photos directly from your iPhone and have them show up in-line with the body of the chat. This goes both sides, as you can also view received photos.
- Record and send voice notes to your buddies.
- Receive and view other files such as images, documents (Word, PDF), Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, audio and video clips. Plus, once you receive some file, you can forward it to some other contact.
- More customization – you can change the sounds for incoming/outgoing messages.
The only problem is the price. Beejive is not a free app — it costs $15.99 — and I’m not sure is it worth it. Don’t get me wrong, Beejive is the best all-in-one IM app in the AppStore, but other contenders (Fring, Truphone, etc.) are coming and they are free. At the end, it’s your call.

Worth it for the stability and extremely responsive speeds.
The feeling of seeing everything synchronized within less than 3 seconds upon launch of Beejive is more than enough to justify the price for me. And this isn’t easy to achieve on the iPhone when you can’t have background processes running (no multi tasking means a lot of exit and relaunch). A lot of time saved.
Beejive also has a way to notify you via email or SMS for chat updates.
i have a jailbroken iphone. i wanted to know if anyone knows how to get that for free on it? please if u know. can u help me. this app is the reason i jailbroke it and now i cant figure out how to get it for free?!
Without multi-tasking, instant messaging on the iPhone is hardly practical. If it logs you out every time you leave the application to do something else, your friends will see you in their list as unavailable. I can’t help but laugh. This leaves your friend with no option but to: 1) wait for your return before responding, 2) send you a text message which requires a monthly subscription, or 3) call you to tell you to log back in.
I will seriously consider an iPhone once this mess is worked out. Of course, jailbreaking is an option too.
