Bytemobile has announced its next-gen Optimization Client for Windows Mobile devices, which should dramatically reduce data volume on both the down and the up links in the network to increase efficiency and capacity. As a result, operators are able to provide their customers with significantly faster web browsing compared to unoptimized services.

The Optimization Client enhances Bytemobile’s server-based web optimization application to expand capacity and significantly speed up web browsing on the mobile device. The client is easy to download and install, and occupies a very small footprint. Its user-friendly interface enables control of device optimization levels through the system tray menu. Since it requires no change to existing web browsers or other clients, the Optimization Client delivers a virtually transparent optimization experience to users on their existing handsets.

The Bytemobile Optimization Client for Windows Mobile works with Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphone, PocketPC and Pocket PC Phone Edition, as well as Windows Mobile 6 Classic, Standard and Professional versions.

Commenting on the announcement, Bytemobile’s Adrian Hall said: “Operators today are faced with a rapidly growing burden on network resources during an economic downturn. At the same time, consumers expect a consistent mobile internet experience regardless of increasing data traffic, making smart optimization critical for operators to remain competitive. The Windows Mobile client-server optimization solution enables them to manage their infrastructure costs while providing their customers with fast, rich web browsing – anytime, anywhere.”
