Space Invaders gets a second life in AppStore

Remember Space Invaders? It was one of the first games I ever played and I still enjoy it from time to time. Ok, not exactly that often, but I do play it once a year or so.

The good news is that now all of us can play it while on the go, as the game has recently being released for the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone and iPod Touch. It costs a buck ($0.99), and packs the original look and feel — graphics and sound, included. In addition, Space Invaders can also take advantage of the built-in accelerometer for controlling the ship’s movement. Alternatively, there are on-screen buttons for moving the ship left and right.

NOTE: For some reason Invaders is not available in the U.S. AppStore. Don’t worry, there are other similar titles. Simply search for “Space Invaders” and you’ll see few similar games available.
