Vodafone squeezes 16mbps out of mobile broadband

…. in a lab in Spain that is. It was done using HSPA+ 64QAm technology, and now the plan is to test out 21mbps!!
It is understood that the real-world implications of getting somewhere like 16-21mbps peak might be something like 13mbps in good cell conditions, and maybe 4mbps in typical urban environments. Quite apart from the speed boost, I think Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) ought to be congratulated for releasing a statement like this, because it puts in perspective the difference between lab-peak and real-world.
Roll on/out the HSPA+!
