Nokia N97 goes on sale on March 31st?

File this under “rumors” or “wishful thinking” until we hear anything official from Nokia (NYSE: NOK). However, quite respected online retailer, Play.com, has a pre-order page for the upcoming Nokia N97 on its website. From there, we’ve learn that the highly anticipated device will start shipping on March 31st. The price is kinda steep — 479.99 GBP, which is about $707 — but then again, that amount buys the single best Nokia smartphone released to date.
Both the large touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard are on board, meaning this baby could help you increase your productivity while on the go. Alternatively, it’s also a media savvy device, sporting a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual-LED flash, media player, 32GB of built-in storage memory, GPS, WiFi, 3G (HSDPA), and a whole lot more.
Since Play.com is a British website, it’s fair to argue they’re selling the N97 with European 3G frequencies, so if you’re in the U.S./Canada, I would suggest waiting for the local retailers…

The N97 shows it as Quad Band GSM and Quad Band WCDMA, then probably will be a single worldwide version. Instead of two versions (Europe and US)
N97 3G work for Canada 3G?
Hi, I was just wondering since it says that N97 is a quad band there should not be any difference at least I hope. I am from Europe and currently I am a student in the USA and I want to be able to use the phone on both continents, is there any other version that would do the trick???
