Handango aka “the original app store” is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and has launched a revamped website to make it easier for users to search and download mobile content.

Here are some of the interesting numbers we caught in their anniversary edition press release:

  • Over 100 million apps have been downloaded so far with an average PAID order value of more than $20 per application
  • Nearly 1,000 devices and 8 different operating systems are supported
  • Handango has a network of websites in 14 languages and 16 currencies, as well as customers in more than 200 countries
  • 140,000 applications from over 23,000 content partners

Handango was founded in 1999 as PalmCentral.com. Over the last decade, Handango has welcomed applications from all operating systems — including Windows Mobile Smartphone and Pocket PC, Palm (NSDQ: PALM), Symbian S60 and UIQ, BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) and most recently for the Android Market.

Finally, since its launch, Handango has gone from a pure-web distribution channel to reaching millions of customers through Handango’s In Hand on device portal, via the mobile Web and through its affiliates and channel partners.
