As Will suspected way back on January 12th, it’s looking to be that the HTC ‘Sapphire’ is indeed the new Android G2 device. HTC’s device lineup had slipped out last week, and Will had a sneaking suspicion that the device codenamed ‘Sapphire’ would/could be the G2. Looks like he was spot on.

As you can see from the images I’ve posted here, the device does look somewhat slimmer, packs a 3.2MP camera, and features a full touchscreen interface. No slide-out keyboard on this bad-boy. If you ‘likey’, new rumors have the new Android G2 from HTC arriving in May of this year.

Looks to be a solid step forward in comparison to the 1st gen G-Phone… But as per usual I’d rather wait to get the device in my own hands… at which time I’ll come down with judgment :) Some more good news… If the device is full touchscreen, I guess we’ll have the much anticipated/needed ‘Cupcake’ update, by at least… May!? :)
