BlackBerry 8350i OtterBox Case Released
By Simon Sage on Monday, January 26th, 2009 at 7:59 AM PST In Accessories, BlackBerry

The latest indoctrinee to OtterBox’s Defender Series is the push-to-talk BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Curve 8350i, currently available on Sprint (NYSE: S). The protection offered by OtterBox seems like overkill for most consumer phones, but the iDEN-capable Curve is geared specifically for rough environments – PTT is used regularly in construction and shipping where instant communication is a daily necessity. At CES we also saw some prototype cases for the BlackBerry Storm and 8700, which we’ll likely see sooner than later. You can grab the 8350i OtterBox for $49.95, or check out our review of the Bold Defender OtterBox to see if it’s your cup ‘o tea.

somethings wrong with this case and it echosssssssssssssssssssssssssss really baddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can not believe that otter box company has known about this and hasnt reacalled these and people like me go to get them and spend alottttttttttttttt of money on them just to find out that theres a problem with these 8350 i cases!!! ive got over 800 8350 i phones and i was in the process of putting otter box cases on all my phones cause im a direst fema contractor and i work outside with these phones as well as my workers do too !! if anyone wants to call me direct about this matter my cell number is 352 857 0214 and my name is chris gilbert from ocala fla !! god bless u !!! just another note on this matter, what if u or one of your loved ones had to make a emergency call and your phone wasnt working right cause of theses covers?? im forwarding my covers to consumer report company for them to see whats going on with these covers and also once you put this cover on your phone and then realize that it wont work and take it off,it leaves marks on your phone that looks like someone scratched the number 2 on it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i don’t know if this makes any difference, but Sprint/Nextel have admitted to the echo problem being on the device-side (the phone echoes, supposedly, no matter what case you put on it). here is a link to the software patch–and it even states that ‘the device echo issues have been resolved.’
