New report says Mobile Industry shouldn’t panic

Informa has done it’s part to quell unrest within the Mobile Industry, that is being driven by global financial turmoil – Informa Telecoms & Media’s latest Global Mobile Market Outlook report suggests there is no reason to panic. Moreover, it also suggests that there opportunities for “investors, operators, and vendors”.
It apparently goes on to say that emerging markets will be big, and that there is room for innovation in Europe and the US. Well that’s a fair enough statement – but when it’s one voice against the events that are occurring (the recent Motorola (NYSE: MOT) news about 4000 people being made redundant for example…), it maybe doesn’t have the weight that you might have equated with it previously.
It’s going to be an ‘interesting’ (or as diplomatic people I know like to say, ‘challenging’) year, and there could be furthe casualties to come – however, let’s put our optimistic hats on and hope that Informa’s words stand true.
