o2 palm treo pro Sprint delaying Palm Treo Pro until end of February for voice + data functionality?Last we heard, Sprint (NYSE: S) was gearing up to launch the Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Treo Pro in CDMA-guise on February 15. It’s a good thing we didn’t put too much faith in either Sprint or Palm’s rumored plans to get their Sprint Treo Pro out to market within weeks. The latest rumblings to make their way down the grapevine have Sprint delaying the Palm Treo Pro until at least the end of February.

It’s not clear what caused Sprint to bump the Treo Pro’s arrival on its CDMA network, but rumor has it that Sprint might be working on perfecting the Treo Pro’s CDMA radio. We’re hearing that the Sprint Palm Treo Pro will be the first Sprint Palm device to support both voice and data use at the same time. Using the 3G EVDO Rev. A network, the Palm Treo Pro is said to be able to allow data transmissions and voice calls simultaneously.

A couple-week launch delay might be well worth waiting if it means the Palm Treo Pro will do 3G data and voice side-by-side.
