iphone-newgencodeHello…  Some snooping around the recently-released iPhone 2.2.1 software code has revealed a section referencing something called iPhone 2,1. (The original iPhone was referenced as 1,1, the iPhone 3G as 1,2.) It might not be anything more than planning for an iPhone with extra storage space, but wandering imaginations might lead us to more iPhone Nano speculations, or even a multi-core iPhone. After a bit more digging, a few sites have apparently been visited by phones bearing 2,1′s browser designation, presumably from those testing internally at Apple. It’s all heresay for now, but it’s always tantalizing to think about the next big thing.
