slotz-racerI purchased SlotZ Racer a few weeks ago, and to tell you the honest truth… I play the darn game at least once a day. It’s a keeper. One of my all-time favorite iPhone games to date. Priced at only $2.99, the game is worth every penny in my books.

If you ever played with slot cars as a kid, (or heck, as an adult) you’re going to love this game. It’s ultra simple. To race, your throttle is a button in the bottom right side of the screen. Hold it down for the gas, let go to slow down/brake. Sprint your way down the straights, but don’t go too fast around the corners or your car will fly off the track. That’s really all you need to know!

Some races require pit stops for refueling, and other endurance races have a time limit… and even go from day-to-night which is kind of cool, because the tracks have lighting around the turns that look kind of cool. Race your way through various championships with different types of cars… Win the trophies and add them to your trophy case.

There’s also a track editor in which you can build and race your own tracks. It takes a few minutes to get used to the control and placement of the track pieces, but once you get it you’ll love building your own tracks. Actually, most of the tracks in the game are loosely based on famous tracks from around the world. Any F1 fan will notice similarities in the track names and layouts.

I highly recommend this game. You can pick it up for $2.99 in the App Store. I’ve also included a video after the jump so that you can see the game in action. Good times!
