Verizon to Lower New Every Two Discount?
By Simon Sage on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 at 10:29 AM PST In Rumors, Verizon
If you were looking to cash in on Verizon (NYSE: VZ)’s deal to give you $100 credit on a new device after two years of loyal service, you might be cramped for time, as that credit will be chopped in half to $50 as of the 15th., and even then it’s only if you were paying out at least $79.99/month (previously $34.99). On top of that, Verizon’s Test Drive program is also seeing the ax, so no more playing around with phones for free for 30 days before taking the plunge. Sure, we’re in frigid economic water right now, but Verizon’s quarterly results were pretty good, Storm sales were solid, and they’ve got some promising handsets on the way. What gives?
