Apple iPhone 4G concept looks amazing!

By Will Park on Wednesday, February 4th, 2009 at 10:18 PM PST In Apple, Devices, Rumors, iPhone, iPhone OS

The iPhone-world is abuzz with rumors about a next-generation iPhone coming down the product pipeline. The discovery of an “iPhone 2,1″ device roaming the internets has sparked many to speculate that Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) might have a more powerful iPhone planned for launch this year. So, it was only a matter of time before iPhone “4G” concepts started to trickle into the blogosphere.

This concept image of an iPhone 4G (which is actually limited to 3G networks, and not compatible with 4G technologies as the name might suggest) that you see here takes Apple’s new unibody MacBook design aesthetic and marries it with the iPhone’s slate form-factor. The concept has the iPhone 4G rocking an upgraded 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS navigation, 32GB of on-board storage, and a removable battery – many of the features that iPhone users have been hoping to see since the original iPhone launched in 2007.

More importantly, the iPhone 4G concept is a beauty. The sharp edges probably wouldn’t work out so well in the real world, but if the next iPhone looks anything like this concept, we’re already sold.

3.2 megapixel camera – whoop de whoop!
Removable battery – Oh my God Really !
32GB onboard storage – No MicroSD card slot then!
Looks – I agree but this is a design drawing & it doesn’t look like much has changed apart from the fact that they have put it in an all Alluminium case

So how many people are going to throw away their perfectly good iPhone 3G models because the three age old features above
    Worth it ?

  2. Kevin says:

Please, please stop with the Apple fanboy fantasy mockups.

It just belittles your site as a source of news and/or decent rumors.

  3. Martin says:

Radio + titanium = not so good

  4. hey says:

    IT LOOKS HORRIBLY UGLY

  5. Ivalo says:

So an upgraded iPhone is an N97 without the keyboard and 5mp camera, but with an OLED screen? I think iPhone folks deserve a much better upgrade than that, especially for a concept.

  6. JonnyBruha says:

Concepts are supposed to be bloated so as to ensure they’re never released. The specs look like an N97 without the keyboard, 5mp, and microSD slot, but with an OLED screen.

I think iPhone folks deserve a better upgrade than that.

  7. Edge says:

Agreed! I am quite tired of these concepts, because some people actually think they’re real. One thing we learned from last time, pretty much 100% of the speculation was wrong.

As for this mock-up, one word, UGLY. Like it’s not the worst design in the world, but one thing. When you see an Apple product, you know it, because it automatically looks good. Someone, they are able to keep producing products, which although different, are still cutting edge and really great looking. That’s why this would not be an iPhone, because it’s just ugly looking (not to mention that titanium just doesn’t work, lol).

  8. Mr-X says:

I dont understand whats so ugly about it?
sure its not a “revolutionary” design but there is nothing you can do if you want to take
advantage of the big screen so i think it looks amazing with that in mind.
Btw i somewhat agree 3,2Mpixel and removal battery isnt a wow factor but damn i still want it :)
I’m so used to the interface that nothing else can even get close even though N97 is a excellent phone i would never switch to that.

One phone i look forward to and i think can compete with iPhone is the palm and of course future android phones.
S60/symbian/windows mobile are simply old and are not good enough for smart phones i think.
We all have to salute Apple for changing the industry and forcing the big phone companies to think different really.

  9. Seth A says:

Ugh, why is everybody showing this off as a “4G” concept? This concept picture has been around for a little over a year now, it came out not long after the original 2G iPhone came out, hence the push for “Standard headphone jack”, “3G Radio”, and “True GPS”

  10. Paul says:

Our smart phone technology so far behind the rest of the world. This “concept” iPhone should be called the 1.3G phone. How about some real features.

  11. I'd do her ... says:

    I’d definitely do her!

  12. sum guy says:

NO, I will stick with the G1 and only, it dosent matter what it looks like mine does everything. Hey maybe they will add copy and paste……..Booooo

  13. Iphone Lover says:

it doesnt matter whether it has copy and paste, iphone 3g and 2g jailbroken phones already can be downloading a copy and paste feature which is fully functional, ’sum guy’ do your research

  14. musico says:

    I don’t like it… Sooooo… ugly. Very ugly…

  15. PAUL says:

What iPhone 3G?! It’ll be another rip off! Apple couldn’t even make its iPhone 3G perform convincingly, now it dreams of a 4G version?! Give me a break. Apple should stick on what it does better – make mp3 playes and sell music through iTunes. For smartphones, leave it to the the more tech savvy Japanese, Koreans and Finns.

  16. Q says:

Great idea to have an “iChat Camera” but then you would have to move the SIM Card somewhere behind the battery. Otherwise you would probably have a conflict with cramming them both in the same place.

  17. cr0ft says:

Not bad. Which Apple employees were involved in creating this concept and I assume they are making it soon right? Right?

Any moron can make a stupid mockup of their fantasy hardware, but it takes a really special kind to then put it up on a site somewhere when there is 0.0000% chance of it becoming an actual product. Ugh.

  18. S says:

the same old screem/home button would be better

  19. hohoporti says:

3.2 mega pix?! bwaaaaaaaaahahahaha Sumsung has 8 mega out already and with a flash, bye bye iphone, down you go

  20. Technological says:

I strongly agree with Hey’s post.

The device has a terrible design!
It sucks! I’d rather keep an iPhone 3G than this crap!
There is another iPhone 4G post where it says “say hello to iChat”
I mean atleast I think that is a better design.
    Great features on both.

But in my opinion there was no need to Re-Design an iPhone 4G. All they had to do was just install a higher quality camer on there and install a camera on the front. For iChat.

  21. Lil old jonny says:
